1940 Ford Deluxe
This all steel car was fabricated from a coupe over a 3 year period by Slim's Body Works. Every sheet metal component has been modified in some way or created from scratch. The idea was to create a highly stylized custom roadster that didn't stray too far from the original body lines, much as would have been done by one of the custom coachbuilders in the 30's or 40's. IMHO it has the best appearing profile ever created for a '40 Ford. The interior is done in Ultra-suede, designed and built by Ogden Top & Trim with a custom dash by Slim's. Vintage Air, Glide seats and VDO instruments complete the interior. The gas tank, audio components and battery were placed in a compartment behind the seats to allow the exhaust to be tunneled through the body. The engine is a 383 stroker Chev with Edelbrock dual quads & aluminum heads with a Comp roller cam and backed by a 700R4 tranny. A TCI coil-over with disc brakes, 4 link rear and 3.50 posi rear complete the package. Two sets of wheels and tires go with the car. The radiator is a Brassworks German silver unit coupled to custom stainless steel plumbing. All aluminum is polished & all engine accessories are mounted low on the block. The folding top is custom made by Time Machines and all trim is fabricated,chrome-plated brass. Paint is Glasurit/Lexus mica blue pearl. The car has won countless awards including a Coddington Pro's Pick at the Columbus Nationals, Street Rodder Top 10 & feature car, and has been featured at the Detroit Autorama, Eyes On Design, and the Willistead Concours. It has won many Best of Show and Best Paint awards. Contact seller for complete list of modifications and specs.
